The project reinterprets Kerala’s traditional domestic architecture through its underlying spatial principles rather than its stylistic elements. The central quarry is transformed into a Nadumuttam, organizing the built forms and landscape around a shared open space. A contemporary Padipura marks the arrival, leading into a layered Poomukham, while shaded pathways inspired by Chuttuverandahs encourage a slower, immersive experience. Gardens inspired by Dashapushpam and Kerala’s spice heritage further strengthen the regional identity. By integrating vernacular planning principles with contemporary forms, materials, and construction techniques, the resort balances Kerala’s cultural heritage with modern luxury, privacy, and environmental responsiveness.
